Ice skating on the Seiser Alm: Fun and keeps you fit

Where you can enjoy wet fun on the Seiser Alm in the summer, you can go ice skating or play hockey to your heart's content during the winter season. The ice rinks in Kastelruth and Seis am Schlern are all cleared of snow in time for the season and are therefore your go-to for winter skating in a stunning setting.

Another tip: the Völser Weiher, it is secluded, protected, and yet easy to reach. Here you have enough space (half of the lake is allowed to be used, the other half is a protected biotope) to spin your pirouettes or skate a few kilometers on the lake. The nearby restaurants promise warming up options to your liking after a long day in the fresh air and delicious food to go with it.

Ice skating like in the old days

While children nowadays often go ice skating, this hobby is less common among adults. Whether with the family, with friends or solo – discover now the attractively located ice rinks on the Seiser Alm and let your childhood come alive again. You can simply learn ice skating or brush up on your skills.

If you feel a little unsure on the blades at first, book a taster course in advance. Experienced ice skaters will explain everything to you and you can rent skates from many rental stations. Make sure to always bring thick socks when using rental shoes and you haven't skated in a long time. Not always the perfect shoe in the ideal size is available and with your thick socks you prevent painful blisters.
